Hey!

I´m Janne Oikarinen, aviation photographer from southern Finland. I have been taken photos since 1998. First I just took “documentary pictures” but during time I got more knowledge about photography... Now I could say that aviation photography is really huge part of my life!

Mostly I like photograph military aviation but offcource all kind of airplanes are interesting object for taking photos. I´m a member of local flying club and sometimes I have a chance to take also air to air photos.

There´s some great aviation photographers who have affected to me since I was a little boy. For example Jyrki Laukkanen who have been taken great pictures for jet fighters since 1960´s and Lassi Tolvanen who also taked awsome air to air shots during his lifetime. They have given me many good advices about photographing airplanes!

I take my photos usually by slidefilm. I bought my first SLR camera at spring 2004... few months before first digital SLR;s begin to come consumer prices. But I feel lucky that I bought film camera! I think that it´s teached me important principels about using the SLR camera. It´s also teached me to wait the best moment to take the photo. When my friends are allready shooting 5 frames per second I´m still waiting and waiting the best moment .
